Ep 1: Welcome to Travel Nerds

Hello everybody, welcome to the first ever episode of the Travel Nerds podcast. I’m your host Conner Ann Waterman and we’ll be having conversations weekly where we’re geeking out on all things travel. I am seriously thrilled to be behind the mic hanging out with you nerds. I’ll be joined by experts all over the travel industry sharing their experience, reviews, and enlighten us with pro tips. This podcast is for anyone looking to broaden their knowledge of adventuring the globe. We’ll have on interesting guests to share advice and tell stories, deep dives on topics most people are unsure about, and of course goofy segments in between. 

I’ve moved around a lot my whole life, different cities, countries, houses, I’ve been to a handful of different schools (Because I kept getting kicked out. No! I’m just kidding. Who do you guys think I am? My dad worked as a news station manager and we’d move when the ratings got up.) I was always having to figure things out, not necessarily on my own but it feels that way regardless. Navigating through the social bureaucracy, or better yet the trenches, of new schools and towns, it was actually super fun for me.  From that feeling of constant unfamiliarity, you know being totally and completely clueless, came this awesome curiosity and ability to thrive in those environments.

I’ve worked in the film industry as an Associate Producer and actor, and now I am so proud to be the Creative Director of a group travel company called AllFly. That’s why I’m so excited to get to sit down with people and pick their brains about adventure, innovation, and hacks that’ll make our lives easier. I mean…please make our lives easier, am I right? We’ll also cover how these tips and tricks can be applied to your life or business. There has never been a more interesting time to be in the travel industry. These companies that were once homogenized now are using terms like inclusivity and sustainability. I wanna learn how the industry is evolving you know? You, or the collective WE for that matter, are the travel industry. And after two long years I think we all deserve a big, fat vacation.
